About IMT Atlantique IMT Atlantique is a leading general engineering school, ranked 4th in L’Etudiant’s 2024 ranking of engineering schools. IMT Atlantique is one of the top 400 universities in the world in THE World University Ranking 2025 and one of the top 100 in THE Impact. The school is internationally recognized for its research in several disciplines in the Shanghai QS and THE rankings. It is part of the Institut Mines-Télécom and reports to the French Ministry of Industry and Digital Technologies. With 3 campuses, in Brest, Nantes and Rennes, and an incubator present on all 3 campuses, IMT Atlantique aims to combine digital, energy and environmental technologies to transform society and industry through training, research and innovation, and to be the benchmark French higher education and research establishment in this field. IMT Atlantique offers training for general engineers, most of whom are recruited through the Mines-Ponts competitive entrance examination. The school also offers three engineering degrees through apprenticeships, as well as masters, specialized masters and doctorate degrees.

IMT Atlantique’s courses are supported by cutting-edge research in 6 joint research units (with CNRS, INRIA, INSERM, universities and engineering schools), of which it is the supervisor: GEPEA, IRISA, LATIM, LABSTICC, LS2N and SUBATECH. The school draws on its research excellence in its flagship fields (energy and digital, cybersecurity, environment and digital, industry of the future, nuclear, health and digital, risks and interactions) and by combining scientific fields to meet the challenges of tomorrow: digital transition, environmental transition, industrial transition, energy transition, health of the future and fundamental research, supported by 2 Carnot institutes Télécom & Société Numérique and Carnot MINES.
