Angela James (WP3, UKZN) presented a keynote presentation at the International Research Conference

Lupane, Zimbabwe – Angela James from UKZN’s WP3 delivered a keynote presentation at the International Research Conference, hosted by Lupane State University from July 9-11, 2025. The conference theme, “Transforming Rural Learning Ecologies for Sustainable Development,” brought together government officials, university leaders, academics, and students to discuss innovative strategies for rural education.

Angela’s presentation highlighted the DECART Project and the crucial work of WP3 on Leadership and Curriculum Transformation. She shared insights on the meaning of curriculum transformation and how effective leadership can either enable or inhibit this process, providing a key focus for the more than 80 papers presented by attendees from various Zimbabwean universities and teacher colleges.
