UKZN Team Presents Erasmus+ DECART Project at the 3rd International Partner Week
From October 28 to November 1, 2024, the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) hosted its 3rd International Partner Week under the theme of “Innovation for Global Engagement.” The event brought together delegates from 20 countries to discuss strategies for advancing internationalisation through student and staff mobility, collaborative research, and various other partnerships.
On October 30, 2024, during the “Global Academic Networks: Collaborative Projects Across Borders” session of the Internationalisation Summit, Cecile Gerwel Proches, Angela James, and Macdonald Kanyangale from UKZN presented on the Erasmus+ DECART project. Their presentation focused on the project’s contributions to curriculum design in higher education institutions (HEIs), emphasizing key elements such as agility, resilience, transformation, and leadership.
The DECART project, an international collaboration, includes esteemed partners from six institutions:
- IMT Atlantique (France)
- Reykjavik University (Iceland)
- RWTH Aachen University (Germany)
- Vilnius University (Lithuania)
- Del Institute of Technology (Indonesia)
- UKZN (South Africa)
The UKZN team highlighted their specific workpackage on curriculum transformation and leadership within the DECART project. Through this initiative, the project aims to innovate and strengthen the curriculum in HEIs to better respond to global educational needs.
Throughout the week-long event, UKZN strengthened its existing partnerships while forging new ones. Sessions and discussions concentrated on fostering international engagement and exploring avenues for future collaboration across borders.
