DECART: Designing higher Education Curricula for Agility, Resilience & Transformations

Resilience Body of Knowledge DECART Report now Online

We are proud to announce the release of Version 2.0 of the Resilience Insights on Curriculum report: “Agility, Resilience and Transformation in Curriculum Design.” In today’s Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous (VUCA) world, preparing for the unknown is fundamental. This report explores how Higher Education Institutions must cultivate resilience to anticipate, cope, and adapt to various forms of adversity, emphasizing the sector’s pivotal role in promoting recovery and stability alongside the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The DECART project remains strongly anchored in the EU strategy to achieve the European Education Area by 2025. This publication reflects on the sector’s demonstrated ability to navigate momentous changes, such as the unprecedented constraints of the Covid-19 pandemic. By setting the stage for necessary recovery measures, the report underscores that resilience is a cross-cutting priority essential for the future of education.

Authored by R. Waldeck, J. Gardner Le Gars, A-K. Winkens, H. Audunsson, S. Rouvrais, A. Barus, V. Dagiene, C. Gerwel Proches, and colleagues (2025), the report is now available for download on the DECART project website. It joins a growing library of resources, including publications on Curriculum Components and VUCA Scenarios. Readers can also look forward to our next resilience report, “Participatory Development for Curriculum Resilience,” which will be released in the coming weeks.
